Clearing temporary internet files (cache) for different browsers
Tue, 2007-08-21 01:00 — trevortwining
I’ve run into several instances where people have asked how do they remove the temporary files from a computer.
Well, the answer is different for each browser, and usually also for each version of that browser. Just follow the steps below for your browser and holler if you need help.
IE 5 Macintosh
To delete temporary files in Internet Explorer 5.x on a MAC:
- Open INTERNET EXPLORER.
- Click EDIT and select the PREFERENCES option.
- Select WEB BROWSER.
- Select ADVANCED from the category listing.
- On the right there are options to CLEAR HISTORY, EMPTY NOW (delete cache).
- Make selections and click OK.
IE 6 Windows
To delete temporary files in Internet Explorer 6.x on a PC:
- Open INTERNET EXPLORER.
- Select the TOOLS menu and then click INTERNET OPTIONS.
- Select the GENERAL tab.
- Under Temporary Internet Files, click DELETE FILES.
There’s others, and I’ll add them as I have time.
